TechTarget is seeking a rock star SEO Specialist to join our Traffic, Search and Engagement Team. This individual will work as part of our team to monitor organic search engine performance on TechTarget websites and deliver insightful recommendations to improve search rankings, traffic, engagement and conversion. This position reports to the SEO Manager.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of search engine optimization (SEO); a strong desire to work hard and learn more; is passionate about executing SEO strategies and loves to see their content’s rankings improve; and stays up to date on the latest tools and industry news.
Essential Job Functions:
• Assess TechTarget content after publication using a proprietary content assessment framework, using analytics and reporting to identify optimization improvements;
• Handle the day-to-day management of various organic SEO projects;
• Analyze data, and prepare feedback on areas of success and areas of improvement;
• Assess all content that is updated as part of unique optimization efforts and prepare an assessment perspective for editorial review;
• Measure and report on business impact of content and optimization projects (ROI);
• Work independently on all aspects of SEO, including research, strategy and implementation; and
• Participate in webinars and workshops, events and conferences
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
• Bachelor’s degree;
• 1+ years of work experience in organic SEO, digital marketing or publishing;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Knowledge of search ranking factors, algorithm changes and critical updates, and ability to remain current in this rapidly shifting field;
• Ability to deliver valuable business insights based on comprehensive reporting available in the organization, as well as tools like Google Analytics;
• Basic understanding of social media, how social signals and social media campaigns influence search marketing;
• Familiarity with industry-standard SEO tools a plus;
• Proven ability to achieve results against set objectives in a fast-moving environment;
• Has a strong attention to detail, and the ability digest information quickly;
• Loves taking on new challenges and wants the opportunity to grow;
• Is flexible and doesn’t get rattled by change;
• Writing, publishing or editing experience, a plus;
• Experience working with, inspiring and influencing cross-functional teams;
• Someone who doesn't take him or herself too seriously. A good sense of humor always a plus
