You will play a key role in the growing Audience Development team at Bauer Xcel, one of the fastest-growing digital media companies globally. Specifically, you will work across the breadth of consumer media brands within the Bauer Media group, such as Life & Style, In Touch, First For Women and Woman's World.

Key responsibilities:

Create SEO growth and development strategies for our portfolio of content

Monitor and report on rankings for key search terms and overall organic traffic

Setting up benchmarks and guidance on SEO best practice and provide SEO support and training to ensure that benchmarks are met and best practice is maintained

Regularly perform site audit and competitor analysis to make sure we are keeping up with content and product best practice

Assume a cross functional role. Work with product, monetization, editorial, marketing and tech to test and execute initiatives across our portfolio of properties and share best practice

Work closely with product and tech teams to ensure all SEO best practices are applied to our platforms, and sign off SEO-related output to help us meet our business goals

Detailed-oriented and efficient: help us prioritize short term gains versus medium term investments; analyze complex data sets to better inform detailed SEO-driven strategies, site hierarchy and site taxonomy

Help us aggressively consolidate and organize our existing content and create framework to improve return on investment for our content

Extensive experience in successful large-scale site migrations: develop strategies, implementation plans and deliver hands-on support

Review and document the impact of significant site changes, algorithm updates, events and other key drivers of organic traffic

Exhibit confident communication skills to effectively present tactical plans and SEO performance to business stakeholders

In sum, you will work in close collaboration with editorial, and be prepared to translate technical SEO outputs into humanly-understandable actions and inspire confidence and actions from the rest of the group to help us reach our traffic target

The Skills

Bachelor's degree

5+ years of practical experience in SEO on agency / client side

Possess technical SEO knowledge and implementation experience including on-site technical, server-side technical, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical URLs, 301 redirects, semantic markup, internal linking strategies, URL structures, google news and snippet optimization and more

Understanding of technical aspects of SEO, including search ranking factors, information architecture, content optimization, link building, SEO audits, and ads-to-text ratio etc

Experienced with optimizing websites and their content for various search products, such as Google News, AMP, and general SERPs

Great listener with incredible bedside manner, willing to listen, learn and adapt
Proficiency with analytics, such as Excel (i.e. extreme proficiency in vlookup and pivot tables)

Expert in delivering actionable insights from Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and SEO analysis tools (such as but not limited to: SEMrush, Keyword Ranker, Google Adwords (for organic research))

Expert in site audit using crawlers such as Screaming Frog or Deep Crawl

Experience with large scale site migration

Very well versed with HTML, with knowledge of CSS, JavaScript and other coding languages a plus

When it comes to SEO trends, you pride yourself on being ahead of the curve

You love reading up on industry blogs and sharing your insights with others

You approach your work with a sense of urgency and you don’t need to be micromanaged to meet deadlines


Background in data science / mining / proficiency with Looker

You have experience in identifying and connecting with influencers like a PR pro
